My Trip to London
Last summer, I decided to visit London. I had always dreamed of seeing Buckingham Palace and riding the London Eye. I booked my flight and hotel online a few months in advance to get a better price.
When I arrived at Heathrow Airport, I took the Tube (the London Underground) to my hotel near Paddington Station. It was quite easy to navigate the transport system. My hotel room was small but comfortable.
On my first day, I visited the British Museum. It was enormous and filled with fascinating artifacts from all over the world. I spent almost the entire day there! In the evening, I went to see a musical in the West End. The performance was absolutely amazing.
The next day, I explored the area around Westminster. I saw the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben (which was partially covered for renovation, unfortunately), and Westminster Abbey. Later, I walked to Buckingham Palace hoping to see the Changing of the Guard ceremony, but I missed it. However, just seeing the palace itself was impressive.
During my trip, I also visited the Tower of London, walked across Tower Bridge, and took a boat trip on the River Thames. The weather was surprisingly good most of the time, although I did experience one rainy afternoon. I tried traditional fish and chips, which were delicious, and enjoyed afternoon tea with scones.
Overall, my trip to London was a fantastic experience. I saw so many iconic landmarks and learned a lot about British history and culture. I definitely want to go back someday.
